After the Fire: Restoring Notre Dame Cathedral
Time: 10:30 a.m. Social, 11:00 a.m. SHARP Program (Zoom Begins)
Location: Hybrid - IWA Office (307 N. Michigan Ave.) and Zoom
Program: Carla Knorowski watched the devastating fire that destroyed Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris in April 2019. But Carla didn’t just weep, she went into action. A professional fundraiser, Carla joined the Friends of Notre Dame and organized a global virtual fundraising event that included such notables as Yo-Yo Ma. She raised more than $500,000 for cathedral repair and has been inside the cathedral since the fire to observe first-hand the complicated restoration process. Carla was awarded the French National Order of Merit, presented here in Chicago by the French Consul General. Join us to hear Carla’s amazing story on April 6!
Speaker: Carla Knorowski is a leader, writer, and cultural explorer inspired by ethical leadership. As President & CDO of the Naval War College Foundation, she works to educate and develop current and future leaders to ensure a more secure and peaceful world.
