Book Distribution at George B. Swift Specialty School

Tuesday, February 14, 7:30 a.m. — 3:30 p.m.

Volunteers needed for two-hour shifts!

Please register online and then contact Dell Harmsen,

Director for Member Engagement, for a time slot.

Volunteers are needed for IWA book distribution at Swift Specialty School, a Chicago Public School attended by many refugee and immigrant children.

Swift is a major recipient of IWA volunteerism and philanthropy, including this book distribution, in which each student chooses a free book to take home and call his own.

This heart-warming event is key to the mission of IWA — and it is fun!

Volunteers are needed for shifts of about two hours, setting up + taking down the book displays and helping students select their books. One volunteer with a car is needed to help take a few books from the IWA office to the school.

Address: 5900 North Winthrop Avenue, Chicago

(Free street parking, also at CTA redline stop, Thorndale)

To volunteer or get more information, contact Dell Harmsen, IWA Director for Member Engagement

If you have already offered to volunteer, thank you! Dell will contact you about scheduling.
