Presentation with brief Q&A following
Our speaker Adrienne Tongate is the Executive Director of Chicago Sister Cities International (CSCI) an initiative of World Business Chicago that manages Chicago’s 29 international sister city relationships. The sister city movement arose from President Eisenhower‘s initiative during his administration. Having witnessed firsthand the devastation of World War II, he came to the conclusion that people had to find a new way to connect to prevent future wars. So, he organized a conference with non- government affiliated individuals to develop an alternative approach to traditional diplomacy.
Let’s learn about how our own Windy City and this program add cultural exchange opportunities to our lives, and enhance our ability to be citizen diplomats around the world.
Refreshments: Coffee, tea and a simple snack provided.
