in Spain and in different Catholic countries in South America
Holy Week traditions are slightly different than the ones found in European countries, as they reflect the history and culture is South America as well, with unique celebrations, events and religious performances just before Easter . In Spain, these traditions trace back to 1240. Semana Santa is the most celebrated religious festivity after Christmas.
