Global Dialogue: Child Health in the US: Bridging the Gap

Program: Usha Raj, IWA member and Professor of Pediatrics, UIC, will discuss Child Health in the U.S. She will highlight how much disparity exists in the US in child health and some of the underlying causes and what can be done.

Presenter: Usha Raj is the Anjuli Nayak Professor of Pediatrics, University of Illinois, Chicago, where she is still working fulltime as a research scientist. She served as the Head of the Department of Pediatrics and the Children’s Hospital at UIC from 2008-2015. Her research is in the 36th year of funding by the National Institutes of Health. She has published over 190 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and book chapters, received numerous awards from Scientific Societies, and been selected for the “U.S.News & World Report” Top Doctors list. Her passion is to serve the underserved children in the US and the world.
