Program: “The US Government Accountability Office: A Vital Congressional Watchdog”
This critically important but little-known agency is charged with oversight of federal programs in all areas. Our presenters, Shirin Hormozi and Tarek Mahmassani, are both Senior Analysts at the GAO and have worked on such projects as reviewing regulations for assisted living facilities, patient safety at hospitals, federal oversight of the financial and housing markets, assessing implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act, , regulatory supervision by the federal banking regulators, and potential models for reforming the housing finance system.
