Cuisine: German
Restaurant: The Berghoff Restaurant
This Chicago landmark, opened in 1898, is one of the oldest family-run businesses in the nation; the fourth generation is now carrying on the tradition. The menu includes a wide selection of classic German-style dishes with a modern twist, such as goat cheese strudel, Hungarian goulash, and daily appetizer specials like Berghoff's beer-battered onion rings and spinach-stuffed mushrooms.
